Davey studies at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and is working on his BA in ministry and minor in Psychology and Counseling. He also holds a certification to the Audio Institute of America and is a Certified Pro Tools Operator. His hobbies include reading, watching movies, creating and editing podcasts, and any activity he can do with his family. Davey lives in Palm Bay with his wife, Sarah, and three children - Lailey, Maddox, and Avonlea.
Children's Ministry Associate
Sarah has been involved with music since a young age. Choirs, band, and musicals were a normal part of growing up. She earned a degree in Music Therapy and became board-certified and worked with children with special needs for 8 years. She and her husband, Davey, have been married for 15 years. Sarah currently homeschools their three kids, and is chaos coordinator at home.
Before moving to Palm Bay, FL, they lived in Georgia and then New Orleans. Throughout their marriage, they have seen God at work in many ways. Aside from teaching music and working with kids, Sarah loves camping, the beach, photography, Asian food, reading, going to the library, and hanging with their greyhound, Mirabeau.
Stephen and his wife, Laura, are rare native Floridians. They have been married since 2007 and have two children, Evan and Olivia. He is involved in his kids’ extracurricular activities, coaching sports, and serving a number of local nonprofits. He enjoys playing golf, hiking, traveling, and just being outside.
Struggling sometimes in his understanding if it's God or his selfish ambition, Stephen keeps Philippians 2:3 close - "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves."
Weekday Preschool Administrator
Becky and her husband, Bill, have 2 sons and a daughter and are originally from Birmingham, AL. They have lived in Auburn, AL (War Eagle!) and then Florida. She has worked in real estate, as a decorator with Southern Living at Home, and with the FBI Preschool, where she has served for 30+ years.
She has served as a Sunday School teacher for preschool, elementary, and students, and as the Children’s Director for 7 years. Becky was Vacation Bible School Director for 12 years and has served on many committees. She accepted Christ at 11 years old, which was a special day as she and her mom were baptized the same day. Her favorite verses are Philippians 4:4-6.
Bill is from Birmingham, AL and a graduate of Auburn University. He and his wife, Becky, have been active members of FBI for 40 years. He retired after 30 years and has been on staff at FBI in several capacities for 15 years. He enjoys outdoor activities, especially spending time with his children and grandkids activities. Two of his granddaughters are attending Auburn, a grandson attends UF, and a grandson is attending EFSC, playing baseball.
Bill accepted Christ as his Savior at 9 years of age during an evangelistic revival in Birmingham. A verse that always come to his mind is John 3:17, “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
Student and Finance Associate
Angela and her husband, David, are from Knoxville, TN but have called Florida home for over 30 years. She accepted Jesus as her Savior at the age of 12, in the church pastored by her grandfather. They have called FBI their church home since 2004.
Angela worked at Harris in the Engineering and Division Process Groups, Business Excellence office and Program Management training until 2017. She sings in the worship team, serves as a volunteer in the Student Ministry, the Financial office, and other areas as needs arise.
They have 3 children (Melissa, a public school teacher, Matthew, a Captain & pilot in the U.S. Marines and Dylan an Airman in the U.S. Coast Guard) and 4 grandchildren that she loves to travel to and visit.
Kathy and her husband, Ken, have 2 sons, Ryan and Zachary. Kathy is responsible for taking care of administrative tasks supporting the pastor, worship leaders and other staff members. She plays the bass on the worship team, volunteers on the Florida Southern Baptist Disaster Relief teams and has worked on various mission teams. Kathy enjoys camping, fishing and the outdoors. Her favorite Bible verses are Isaiah 40:31 & 2 Timothy 4:7.
Jonathan was called as the Lead Pastor in the summer of 2019. He previously served churches in Alabama, Georgia, Missouri and Louisiana. He also served on the faculty and administration of New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS). He holds degrees from Samford University (AL) and NOBTS (LA) (M.Div. & DMin)
He and his wife, Julie, have been married since 2002 and have three daughters – Stevens Elise, Cadence, and Medley. His hobbies and interests include college sports, a few pro teams, reading, movies/Broadway shows, and local restaurants. His favorite verses include John 10:10 and Ephesians 3:20.
Susan is a native Floridian and grew up in Brevard County. She was baptized at First Baptist Church Indialantic when she was 11 years old. She has been married to Tom for almost 23 years and has 2 college-aged sons, Matthew and Adam. Their oldest son, Dillon, and his wife, Anna, live in sunny California. Her hobbies are reading, baking, gardening, and watching Gator football.
Her two life verses are Philippians 1:6, “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ,” and John 6:68-69, “Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God.”
Minister of Discipleship
Karen has been involved in ministry most of her life. She has served in a variety of nonprofits, part of seven startup ministries, and as a coach, mentor and friend to many. Her life verse, 2 Timothy 2:2, describes her heart and ministry – “The things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.” She has one fabulous son, an amazing daughter-in-law and two awesome granddaughters.
Worship and Children's Associate
Andrea has lived in Florida most of her life and recently graduated from the University of Florida. She was actively involved in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, where she met her best friend and incredible fiancé, Milton. As she says, “Words can’t describe my excitement for getting married!”
She grew up attending church and became a follower of Jesus early. She loves being part of her church family, especially when she can serve. Her passion is worship ministry and is so thankful to be helping lead worship as the pianist. She also teaches piano to a variety of students. She serves as a teaching assistant in FBI’s weekday preschool. Andrea has found joy being part of the staff team at FBI and can’t wait to see what the Lord has in store for her as she continues to walk with Him.
Her favorite verse is Galatians 2:20 – “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Steve gives leadership to our student ministry where their theme is from Luke 10:27, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
Steve and his wife, Cristy, have five children. He has worked in the surf industry as a sales rep for the last 20 years. He enjoys all things outdoors, including surfing, hiking, camping etc. He is passionate about mentoring the up-and-coming generations.
His favorite quote is from General “Mad Dog” Mattis (USMC, Ret.) – “Loyalty only counts when there are 100 reasons not to be.”

Tammy has lived in other places, but she always come back to the beach. She and her husband, Bobby, along with their daughters, Landyn and Dylan, live in Indialantic. She loves to cook, entertain and, hang out with her family outdoors. She has a lifelong love for food and gatherings, and has overseen a variety of countless events. They have been attending FBI for about a year and “absolutely love this Church!” Hospitality is such a wonderful mission, and she is grateful to be able to serve at FBI!
Her life verse is Isaiah 40:31, “But those who trust in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.”
Associate Pastor of Worship and Administration
Kyle has been married to his high school sweetheart, Makayla, since 2011. They have four boys who God blessed them with through adoption and biologically. Muscle Shoals, Alabama may be where they were raised, but they are now proud to call Melbourne, Florida home. He and his wife love adoption and have a special place in their hearts for parents of children with autism knowing firsthand the struggles they face. Kyle was called to First Baptist Indialantic in 2016 when he came as Worship and Student Pastor. He now serves as Associate Worship and Administration Pastor and also owns a digital marketing business. They are excited to see what God has in store for our church. Kyle’s favorite verse is Ephesians 2:4-5: "But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with Christ even though we were dead in our trespasses."

Scott and his wife, Donna, moved to Florida from Texas when they retired from the Dallas Police Department and from teaching High School in Waxahachie, Texas, respectively. They were married in 1988 and have 2 grown sons. Scott enjoys golf, music, and fishing at the beach. He trained horses for the Dallas Police Department Mounted Unit and for the private sector as well. Any time he spent in the saddle was time well spent.
The verse that Scott stands on is Psalms 16:8, "I keep the Lord continually in front of me, because He is at my right hand I will not be shaken."
Preschool Director and Minister to Children
Laura and her husband, Jeff, have been married since 2002 and have two children, Emily and Jake. Laura was born at Holmes Regional Hospital and raised in Melbourne Beach. When she is not watching her children participate in their many activities, she enjoys reading, puzzles, fishing, and traveling. She knew from a young age that she wanted to work with children, and she graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Education. She has worked at the preschool since 2005.
Her favorite verse is, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9).
