… eat ice cream from a cone or a cup?
… have Mexican food for lunch today or pizza?
… eat squids or chocolate-covered ants?
… get a flat tire or run out of gas?
… have a pimple on the tip of your nose or a blister on you’re the bottom of your foot?
… be awakened at 2:00 a.m. by a phone call or a knock on the door?
… sneeze for an hour or hiccup for an hour?
… have a roommate who snores or one who talks in his/her sleep?
… have broccoli stuck in your teeth or something hanging out of your nose?
… have x-ray vision or the ability to read minds?
… live without TV or music?
… be covered in Cheese Whiz or sour cream?
… attend your favorite band live in concert or be in the stands watching your favorite sporting team?
… dress like your parent or act like them?

These questions, along with plenty of others, can be found in the Youth Specialties book by Doug Fields entitled Would You Rather…? And though some are silly to the point of absurd, they are wonderful conversation starters and all send a clear message to those who are listening – there is always a choice, there are always options.

Each and every day is filled with options (and opportunities). What we choose… what we do with them is completely up to us.

Paul tells us in his letter to the Colossians (3:17): … Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
Similarly, he writes to the Corinthians: … Whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).

What would you rather…?
