As I’m typing these words, it is the Friday BEFORE Vacation Bible School, and there is activity all around me preparing the campus for the almost 500 folks that will be with us next week!
I’m writing my article today because, for several years, I’ve had the incredible joy of participating in numerous VBS weeks, I know that my typical to-do list may or may not get completely accomplished, and I don’t want to miss the opportunity to have said these two important words: Thank you.
Thank you to every parent who trusted us with your child/children. Thank you for the immense privilege of loving them, working with them, playing with them, being a part of their lives – being a part of your lives!
Thank you to every man, woman, and teenager who gave their week (or even just a portion of it) to
- decorate the campus
- help with the organized chaos that is morning check-in
- watch the littlest ones so that parents could serve
- provide media and tech support
- teach songs and motions
- run around and play games
- come up with ideas and help assemble crafts
- prepare and deliver snacks
- teach Bible lessons
- keep our kids and our campus safe
- build relationships with these incredible humans and
- demonstrate Christ’s amazing love SO THAT they might come to know it for themselves and even take it home to share with their families and their friends.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thank you for being the hands and feet, the mouthpiece and heartbeat of Jesus.
We couldn’t have done it without you.
And we wouldn’t have wanted to!
