Be honest. When did you start playing Christmas music and pulling out decorations?

For many, it is an absolute scandal to do anything until after the Thanksgiving table has been cleared. For others, the tree came up while the kids were trick-or-treating, and the music has been in the mix all year!

As it always is, this is my favorite time of the year. Other than eggnog, there’s not much I don’t just love about Christmas! And while I love the actual day, it’s honestly probably all the lead-up to December 25 that I love even more!

That said, please don’t read the following as me looking past Christmas, but rather, recognizing that I need some “lead-up time” as we look toward two particular emphases
we want to introduce in January, the first of which I want to share with you today:

21 Days of Prayer

January 6 – 10
Monday – Friday, 6:30 – 7:20 am
The first week of the 21 Days, we will gather each morning for a brief but meaningful time of worship, devotion, prayer, and quiet before the Lord led by our elders and staff.

January 6 – 26
For the entire 21 days, you will be equipped with a daily devotion and prayer prompts that will help us move in the same direction as a Faith Family as we begin the new year. I’ll share the second emphasis next week, but in the meantime, along the same lines, remember that Christmas IS the time of the year when people are most open to a presentation of the Gospel.

What are you praying for this Christmas?
Better yet, WHO are you praying for?
Who is your Christmas ONE?
